Common standards for Europe's data centers
North Holland has the highest data center density in Europe. However, strict regional regulations alone drive investors to regions with lower standards.

The Province of North Holland is a Dutch provincial government based in Haarlem.
We designed and conducted a three-day summer school for European regions, the EU Commission, and national governments to formulate common requirements for data centers.
On the first day, we worked through the value creation model with participants based on our taxonomy. On the second day, policy recommendations were derived. The third day included a technical data center tour. The program was based on design-thinking methods.
