Vattenfall and Cloud&Heat Technologies initiated the construction of a 500-kW pilot data center near Stockholm. The project was based on the Combined-Heat-and-Compute concept by IDED (known as SDIA at the time) and was connected to a local biomass power plant. It demonstrates the natural synergy between energy providers and data centers: on-site power generation as the primary source and grid electricity as a backup.
