At the invitation of the Rostock Economic Development Agency, IDED presented the settlement study for data centers in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The target audience included mayors from the Rostock district, who were informed about location potentials and the strategic settlement process.

The presentation positioned data centers within the digital economy, discussed business models, and outlined specific action options for the district: establishing a regional internet hub as a foundation, the concept of energy parks to connect data centers with renewable energy and waste heat utilization, and the assessment of suitable areas. Additionally, the IDED guideline was introduced, offering municipalities a structured process from resource assessment to marketing.
