IDED, in collaboration with OpenUK and international partners, formed a consortium to develop an open-source blueprint for the carbon-negative data center — presented at COP26.

IDED (then known as SDIA) and OpenUK established an international consortium with ITRenew, the Open Compute Project, the Octopus Energy Centre for Net Zero, the Scotland 5G Centre, and ORCA Computing. The objective: an open-source blueprint for a carbon-negative data center, based on circular economy principles.
The blueprint was presented at the UN Climate Conference COP26.
