Max Schulze gave a presentation on April 25, 2023, at the event format 'Simply. Together. Digital.' organized by the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport in Berlin. The event, led by Minister Volker Wissing, provided an update on Germany's digital strategy.

IDED (formerly SDIA) introduced Green Coding as an approach based on three pillars: the digital sector's responsibility for its environmental impact, transparency in the resource consumption of digital products and tools, and methods for sustainable software development. Using the example of Drupal, Schulze demonstrated that an efficiency gain of just 1% across 937,000 websites can save around 2 million kWh per year.
