Big Data

For the term "big data", the SDIA accepts the definition provided by Oracle.

Oracle defines big data as follows:

Big data refers to data that is varied, increasing in volume, and arriving with greater speed. This is commonly referred to as the three Vs. In essence, big data comprises larger, more complex data sets, particularly from new data sources. These sets are so large that traditional data processing software cannot handle them. Two additional Vs have emerged in recent years: value and veracity.
