The signatory companies welcomed the new Energy Efficiency Act (EnEfG), which had its public hearing in the committee on June 12 and was about to be passed in Parliament.
The Energy Efficiency Act includes reporting requirements for data centers that IDED has long advocated: transparency regarding the energy consumption and environmental performance of digital infrastructure as a basis for informed decisions and improvements at the sector level. The law is an important step towards sustainable digital infrastructure in Germany— and a model that can serve as an example at the European level.
